Unfortunately, not all employees always do their job properly and get the results we would like. While it is not always possible to immediately terminate an employee in these cases, it is not impossible or superhumanly difficult.
Let’s explain what constitutes a breach of job duties and a failure to meet job requirements, which also include an employee’s unsatisfactory performance. We will then show you how to proceed so that you can terminate the employment relationship properly and not have to worry about a potential lawsuit.
Finally, we’ll look at a number of cases from the courts to illustrate what is and is not grounds for termination, and even what is grounds for immediate termination. We’ll look at the evergreens among violations such as alcohol, drugs, absenteeism, theft. But we’ll also look at other interesting examples such as a disrespectful employee, workplace disorder, order churn, and love in the workplace.
